Fertility
The feminine embodies the essence of creation, transformation, and the intricate dance of existence, with the potential of the mother as its core. It carries the profound ability to give life, shape new worlds, and nurture them with care and resilience.
The egg, an ancient symbol of fertility, represents the embryonic potential from which life emerges, while its connection to the breast signifies not only life-giving sustenance but also the enduring strength of the maternal force in nurturing and protection.
Together, these symbols reflect the sacred cycle of birth, growth, sustenance, and renewal.
Glass of Milk
A Rose
In this work, the rose takes the form of a female breast, symbolising fertility and feminine nourishment.
The blooming rose marks a specific moment in a woman’s life, often associated with youth and early womanhood.
Within a patriarchal gaze that idealises women at the point of bloom, the rose is celebrated when young and overlooked as it moves through later phases.
This work invites a re-learning of how we look—urging us to recognise beauty, value, and vitality in every stage of growth.
Three States of Milk
This three piece series aims to linger on the moment before something “final” is about to happen, the milk is about to be spilled, the glass is about to break. It forces us to stop and absorb the effect and tension of that impending change, making us wonder what will follow and is there any reality once the inevitable happens.
Familiar Fracture
At first glance, these images looks like a banal still-life photograph, but a closer look reveals each object is broken.
