The Dove of Peace, with an Incision Along Its Side Revealing the Bullets of War

One can only imagine the horrors the dove witnessed on her way to Noah. When it seemed that all of humanity and the animals had perished, she arrived and offered a sign of hope and the possibility of a different future.

This work does not seek to destroy the symbol of peace, but to deepen it. By exposing what lies beneath the surface, the sculpture asks us to confront traumas, silences, and histories.
It is only through confrontation and acknowledgement of what has wounded us—that genuine peace can begin.

The dove, though injured, remains intact. It endures. In this endurance lies hope: that peace is not the absence of pain, but the presence of healing; not an idealized escape, but a commitment to transformation.

This sculpture is an invitation — to disarm, to care, and to imagine a peace that is honest, resilient, and shared.
